A 17-year-old from Dawsonville has been arrested in the alleged molestation of a young child.

Jonathan Wade Finch was arrested on June 18 at his home in Dawson County.

He is charged with one count each of aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes, according to Dawson County Sheriff's Cpt. Tony Wooten.

"The incident is alleged to have happened between April 1 and May 1 at [Finch's] home in Dawson County," Wooten said.

According to Wooten, the victim was a 5-year-old that "knew the alleged subject."

He declined to give the victim's sex.

"The victim's family came forward and [Finch] was arrested the same day his warrant was issued," Wooten said.

Finch is currently being held at the Dawson County jail.

As of press time, no bond had been set.
