A convicted child molester was indicted last month on similar charges in Dawson County.

Hugh Clay Williams, 33, was among the nearly three dozen people indicted Dec. 15 by a Dawson County Grand Jury.

Williams faces three counts of child molestation and a single count of aggravated child molestation.

A recidivism notice was also filed with the court, stating Williams has been convicted of numerous charges in Georgia since 1999.

He is currently serving a five-year sentence at Phillips State Prison for a 2009 child molestation conviction in Walton County, according to Georgia Department of Corrections' records.

The records show the Walton County offense occurred in July 2007, nearly six months after the alleged sexual offenses in Dawson.

According to the indictment, between Dec. 1, 2006, and Jan. 7, 2007, Williams performed "immoral and indecent" acts that were sexual in nature with a child younger than 16.

The indictment said the state has not been able to determine the exact date of the alleged crime due to the child's age.
