A Dawsonville man awaits sentencing Thursday after a jury convicted him of sex crimes involving children.

Jose Francisco Gonzalez, 41, was initially indicted on two counts of sexual battery, two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes and a single child molestation charge.

The charges stem from incidents that allegedly took place in southeastern Dawson County between June 2012 and May 2013.

According to the sheriff's reports, the girls, who are both younger than 16, reported the abuse to authorities.

Gonzalez, who has been in Dawson County Sheriff's custody since his arrest June 14, was found guilty Jan. 30 on the child molestation charge and one count of enticement, according to court records.

The jury acquitted him on the remaining charges.

The sentencing hearing is set for 9 a.m. Thursday in Dawson County Superior Court.
