Dawsonville man charged for allegedly striking pregnant woman

Authorities say that a Dawson County man was taken into custody this week after he allegedly assaulted a pregnant victim and prevented her from leaving a domestic incident on Monday afternoon.

Christopher Austin Jackson, 20, of Dawsonville was arrested by Dawson County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Tuesday, Jan. 21, after authorities were called to a local residence to investigate an alleged incident of domestic violence.

According to Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson, Jackson is accused of intentionally striking and kneeing a pregnant victim in the presence of children during the incident on Monday, and allegedly restrained the victim, preventing her from leaving the incident.

Jackson has been charged with three counts of battery against a female who is pregnant, two counts of simple battery against a female who is pregnant, one felony count of false imprisonment and one count of cruelty to children.

As of Friday afternoon Jackson is being held in the Dawson County Detention Center under a bond of $20,200.
