A Dawsonville couple is facing felony drug charges after authorities were called to their home on a reported domestic case and discovered suspected narcotics laying out in plain view.

Justa Dawn Martin, 30, and Dwayne Chester Martin, 32, were arrested overnight April 23.

Their charges include possession of a controlled substance (suspected methamphetamine) with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of drug related objects.

"Officers responded to a call for a possible domestic with shots fired at their home off Goldmine Road," said Dawson County Sheriff's Capt. Tony Wooten. "When they were clearing the house to make sure there was no one else inside that was injured, they found in plain view some drug related objects and weapons."

Wooten said officers found no evidence of a domestic dispute when they arrived on the scene.

He did not release the identity of the person that reported the alleged incident.

Dwayne Martin is also charged with possession of a sawed-off shotgun and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He is convicted of felonies in both Forsyth and Hall counties, according to the arrest warrant.

Both are currently being held without bond in Dawson County Sheriff's custody.
