A 27-year-old Cumming man has been indicted by a Dawson County Grand Jury on charges of child molestation, statutory rape and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Elvis Lamar Griffin was also indicted on charges of reckless conduct for allegedly having unprotected sexual intercourse with the juvenile teen in October while knowing he was infected with HIV, according to the Dec. 6 indictment.

Lt. Ray Goodie, who leads the Dawson County Sheriff's Office criminal investigation division, said Griffin met the teen when they worked together at a Forsyth County pizzeria in 2012.

"They developed a relationship, and then he picked the female up at home and brought her to an extended stay motel near downtown Dawsonville," Goodie said.

"We received a report from her mom and officers went to the motel, made contact and Griffin was taken into custody for outstanding warrants out of Forsyth County."

Griffin, who has not been arrested on the Dawson County charges, is serving a five-year prison sentence for a theft conviction in Forsyth County, according to the Georgia Department of Correction's Web site.

He is being held in the state's Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson.
