Dawson County Sheriff's deputies have made an arrest in connection with crash early Sunday morning in which a Cumming man drove a Ford pick-up through the front glass doors at Walmart in Dawsonville.

Capt. Tony Wooten said the suspect, 49-year-old Jason Wade Davis, abandoned the truck at the rear of the store and fled on foot.

Davis was taken into custody Sunday afternoon when officers say he returned to the area looking for a ride home.

"We had an unmarked car in the parking lot. Our officers saw him walking from Five Guys toward a storage building at Home Depot," Wooten said.

Davis was charged with one felony criminal damage to property count.

Additional charges are likely, according to Wooten.

"We are working with Walmart now to determine the amount of damage he caused to the store," Wooten said.

Davis, who had a misdemeanor probation violation warrant for his arrest out of Cumming, was turned over to Forsyth County deputies.

Wooten said Davis has not been cooperative with authorities.

The incident was reported just after 5 a.m.

No one inside the store was injured, according to Wooten.
