A Dawsonville man is in custody charged with felony aggravated assault in connection with a shooting off Kelly Bridge Road Thursday afternoon in southwestern Dawson County.

Paul Henry Truelove, 58, was arrested on the scene shortly after officers responded to a shooting at a mobile home on Cletus Nichols Road.

Authorities say Truelove fired a shotgun at another man during a dispute. The man's name has not been released.

"It started out as a verbal altercation that resulted in a shooting incident where the victim sustained minor injuries," said Dawson County Sheriff's Capt. Ray Goodie.

The man was taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he was treated and released, according to Goodie.

No additional details are available at this time as the investigation is ongoing, Goodie said.
