The ‘stars' will be over Dawsonville when the 23rd Annual Chamber of Commerce Gala is held in just a few short weeks.

This year's event, sponsored by Northside Hospital-Forsyth, will be held the evening of Jan. 10 at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame.

The "Stars of the Chamber" themed gala and awards ceremony recognizes outstanding members of the business community.

"We are excited about our theme of "Stars of the Chamber" this year as we will be spotlighting our members and honoring those members of the community whose efforts have gone above and beyond," said chamber president Christie Haynes.

Chamber members will be recognized during the event for their works in the chamber and the community.

"Our Gala is the biggest opportunity of the year for our business community to gather in one place to celebrate our accomplishments and network with one another," Haynes said.

The awards presented will be the Don Gordon Business Leader of the Year award, the Jim Wallace Volunteer of the Year award, Ambassador of the Year and the Chairman's Award.

The Business Leader and Volunteer of the Year awards are chosen by chamber members, with the members voting by nomination form, which are available through the chamber.

Tickets at $65 per person, or $500 for a table of eight, can be purchased from the chamber office or at www.dawson.org.

Attendees are asked to dress in "cocktail attire."

The banquet is the chamber's largest fundraising event.
