Operation Roundup works to change lives of those in need

The Amicalola EMC Trust Operation Roundup quarterly board meeting was held on July 29.

Once again, thousands of dollars were given back to individuals and organizations served by Amicalola EMC.

Organizations for Dawson and Lumpkin counties that received a donation were Dawson County Treatment, the Young Life organization and NOA’s Ark Inc.

In addition to these organizations, needy individuals were given assistance with paying a gas bill, making a mortgage payment, paying rent, paying a deposit on a water meter, purchasing a hearing aid and purchasing school clothes and supplies, just to name a few.

Members of Amicalola EMC make the donations possible by “rounding up” their power bill to the next whole dollar amount. Change actually does change lives, as every penny is given right back to deserving charities and individuals in need.  These funds may be used for food, shelter, clothing, health needs, education and specialty needs.

If you already participate in Operation Roundup, you can feel good knowing you are changing lives. If not, please take a moment to consider joining.

Your change really does change lives.
