Legislators representing Dawson County will speak Thursday during the local chamber of commerce monthly luncheon at Peach Brandy Cottage.

State Rep. Kevin Tanner, R-Dawsonville, and Sen. Steve Gooch, R-Dahlonega, are expected to share updates of the recent legislative session and discuss issues that affect Dawson County residents and business owners.

Dawson County Chamber of Commerce President Christie Haynes said the chamber is honored to have Tanner and Gooch speak at the luncheon.

"It seems apparent, now more than ever, that government plays a major role in business," she said. "Thursday's luncheon offers a great opportunity for our local business men and women to hear from our state legislators on issues that already impact their daily lives, as well as on issues that may have a future impact."

Reservations for the luncheon are not required, but encouraged by calling (706) 265-6278.

The cost is $15.
