Group recognizes authority

The Georgia Association of Water Professionals has awarded Etowah Water and Sewer Authority the 2010 Public Education Program of the Year award.

 

The authority has won the award nine out of the last 11 years.

 

The award is given for meeting program goals and using resources efficiently, reaching out to the public and educating the public about water.

 

According to its Web site, the Georgia Association of Water Professionals is a not-for-profit association that aims to “assist those who have an interest in water, wastewater and related topics in the state of Georgia.

 

The association is “dedicated to exceptional professional education, dissemination of sound technical principles and scientific information, increased public understanding and promotion of valid public laws and programs.
