Fresh n' Frugal-Cost Plus Foods, is a new concept supermarket open in Dahlonega. The business operates in the location formerly occupied by J&J Foods in the Greenbriar Shopping Center.
The store's format is designed to provide fresh produce, meats, groceries and household products at the lowest possible price. Products are priced at cost and 10 percent is added at check-out to cover labor and overhead. There are no loyalty cards, no annual membership fees, no purchase points to track and no "buy this, get that" schemes.
The practical cost-plus pricing approach of Frugals provides a simplified shopping experience.
In addition, Fresh n' Frugal's commitment to buying products from local suppliers only adds to the freshness shoppers can expect.
Frugal's recently-renovated 22,000-square-foot store, features expanded fresh departments, a new point-of-sale system and updated décor.
Visitors to the store will immediately notice the two murals depicting Dahlonega and Lumpkin County's celebrated history of gold mining.
Fresh n' Frugal-Cost Plus Foods is open from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. daily and George Herb is the store director.
The store will celebrate its grand opening today through Sunday, with daily giveaways, events in the store and prize drawings, including a grand prize of free groceries for a year.
