The Dawson County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for one of its most anticipated events of the year. Tickets are available for the annual reverse raffle that will be at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 15.
The event will be held at Dixieland Stables, 2839 Grizzle Road. Purchasing one ticket allows two people to enter the event.
"We're real excited about hosting the reverse raffle at Dixieland Stables this year. It's one of our newest venues to our community and it's really beautiful, right off [Ga.] 400, so we're excited to show that off," said Christie Haynes, chamber president.
Only 300 tickets at $100 each will be sold for this year's raffle drawing party, which gives ticket holders the chance to win $10,000 cash.
"It's pretty good chances or odds to be one out of only 300 tickets sold. Someone will definitely be going home with $10,000, and that's never a bad day," she said. "It's really just an evening of fellowshipping with other business leaders and citizens in the community."
Additionally, every 25th number drawn will win a prize equal or more valuable than the ticket price.
"There's not just one winner. There will be multiple winners." Haynes said. "If you're the first ticket drawn...you'll get you're $100 back. I know it's a bummer to be the first, but that makes it fun."
Tickets include raffle drawing, prizes and a light buffet.
"This year, we're also going to have a cornhole game set up and a picker will be playing before the raffle begins," she said.
Beer and wine will be available at the cash bar.
Tickets are available at the chamber and through the chamber's board of directors and ambassador volunteers.
Winners do not have to be present to claim their prize.
The chamber accepts all major credit cards, cash and checks.
Proceeds from the raffle support many chamber initiatives throughout the year.
