Those who still haven’t seen the new Dawson County Chamber of Commerce and Welcome Center are invited to take a look this weekend.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at noon Friday for chamber membership, and the community is invited to join in the festivities at the new facility Saturday and Sunday.

“We’ll be here all weekend celebrating,” said Linda Williams, chamber president. “Things will be going on all day to bring attention to the fact that we are at our new home here.”

There will be representatives from businesses around the community, as well as some from other parts of northeast Georgia. Hot apple cider will be served.

Chamber officials moved to the new Ga. 400 location last month after relocating from the old historic jail facility in downtown Dawsonville.

Williams said the chamber had outgrown the old facility.

The new 2,500-square-foot building helped the organization to “increase presence to tourists, visitors and travelers,” she said.

The Dawson County Chamber of Commerce and Welcome Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
