Business expo to feature health

For 12 years, the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce has held an annual Business Expo. This year, attendees can expect health booths, too.

The Business and Health Expo will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Rock Creek Sports Complex.

Visitors to the free event will be able to check out booths from businesses ranging from local printing, to newspapers, to health organizations, according to Chamber President Christie Haynes.

"This year, we're having both a business and health expo," she said. "We've noticed health partners moving into the county and establishing offices and becoming bigger players in the county."

Haynes said the purpose of adding health booths is to make visitors aware of the local health care choices in the county.

"We understand health care is such a vital part in our community, but a lot of the citizens don't know what's actually offered in Dawson County," she said. "Part of the goal of this expo is to have representatives from health organizations come in and talk about what they offer."
