Belk department store is hosting its semi-annual charity sale next month and is inviting local schools and nonprofit organizations to participate.

Those interested can pick up $5 tickets to sell, with 100 percent of the proceeds going back to the charity or school and no limit on the amount of money that can be raised, from a local Belk store.

Tickets will provide customers 20 to 70 percent off most items at Belk during the 6-10 a.m. Nov. 9 sale. Customers also will receive $5 off their first purchase.

The first 100 customers also will receive Belk gift cards for between $5 and $100, along with a chance to win one of three $1,000 gift cards awarded companywide. Participating nonprofits and schools also are registered to win one of three $1,000 gift cards awarded companywide.

Customers can also buy tickets for the sale at any Belk store starting Nov. 3. Revenues from those ticket sales are divided equally among the participating nonprofits and schools.

Belk's charity sale last year raised more than $10 million companywide.
