Rafe Banks III has been named Appellate Attorney of the Year for 2009 by the Georgia Defense of Drinking Drivers Group.

Banks is with the law firm of Banks and Stubbs LLP in Cumming.

The award was presented Saturday during the group’s annual meeting at Wild Dunes Resort in South Carolina.

DODD is a statewide, invitation-only association of attorneys whose practices have a substantial focus on the defense of DUI.

This year’s gathering was a joint meeting with the equivalent South Carolina group.
