Tom Joyce is the new owner at Sears in Dawson County, off Ga. 400 North.

Joyce, who is originally from the Midwest, has been living in Georgia with his wife, Kim, for 30 years.

His profession is landscape architecture, but Joyce said he “had the opportunity to be a part of Sears, and I was lucky enough to find a good crew.”

Manager Brenda Rodgers is a decades-long “Sears pro and a local businesswoman as well.”

In addition, Joyce said: “She is service-oriented and knowledgeable.”

Joyce said service is the hallmark of Sears.

“It is the largest appliance dealer in America, and a lot of people don’t realize that Sears invented the automatic electric washing machine,” Joyce said.

“So, we don’t just sell appliances; we are the appliance sales folks, and service is what the local store here is all about.”

Added Joyce: “Our employees are local and friendly, and our goal is to provide excellent service and go the extra mile.”

Sears is located at 276 Hwy. 400 N., Dawsonville. The store number is (706) 265-1883.
