Ring in the season with Dawsonville’s annual Spring Fling festival.

Formerly known as Art in the Garden, the two-day event will be held May 7-8 at the Bowen Center for the Arts.

Overflow activities will go on next door in the Dawson County Middle School parking lot.

In addition to a juried art show featuring works from the Georgia Watercolor society, the event will offer a variety of art and garden inspired activities for the entire family.

Held by The Dawson County Arts Council, Spring Fling will also have dozens of vendors and artists from across the Southeast offering made-in-America arts and crafts, food, music and rides, as well as a large selection of gardening supplies.

“This is one of the best places to get your spring gardening supplies — from flowers and vegetables to tools and products - to make sure your garden is a showpiece,” said Marcia Chelf, arts council executive director.

There will also be a bike race and 5K and 10K run during the weekend.

Admission and parking are free. Booths will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
