Sarah Rebecca Melton of Dawsonville and Matthew Christopher Smith of Lawrenceville were united in marriage at noon May 12, 2012, at Neptune Park on St. Simons Island.
The Rev. Brook Batchelor of Holy Cross Anglican Church of Loganville performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Bryan and Margaret Melton of Dawsonville.
The groom is the son of Steve and Virginia Smith of Lawrenceville.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an Olga Cassini white lace strapless tulle fit and flare gown with lace appliqués. She wore a handmade ribbon and jeweled hibiscus headband created by the maid of honor.
She carried a bouquet of white hydrangea and orchids, the stems were wrapped with an antique handkerchief given to the bride by the groom's mother.
Jennifer Brinson, the bride's cousin, of Dawsonville was the maid of honor.
The bride's attendants were cousins of the bride: Cathy Clark of Brunswick, and Carla Todd of Blythe Island.
Also, Carissa Cowart of Dawsonville and Jessica Besaw of Dahlonega.
The flower girl was cousin of the bride, Miss Elizabeth Carter of Hortense.
The best man was Michael Johnson of Lawrenceville.
The groomsmen were Bradley Morrison of Lawrenceville, Jonathan Biles of Lilburn, Joshua Melton, brother of the bride of Dawsonville, and Brad Hardman of Cleveland.
Ushers were Drew Smith brother of the groom of Lawrenceville and Jake Melton, brother of the bride of Dawsonville.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Casino Atrium, Neptune Park, St. Simons Island.
Following a honeymoon to Alaska, the couple will reside in Dawsonville.
