The Bowen Center for the Arts hosted its annual Lunch at an Artful Table, in which 15 lavishly-decorated tables are sponsored for $300 each and attendants enjoy lunch catered by Fireside Cafe.
“Lunch at an Artful Table, is a chance to see how creative, imaginative and talented our community is. The afternoon was filled with prizes, fun and a wonderful lunch served by the men of the Dawson County Arts Council,” said Marcia Chelf, director of the Bowen Center for the Arts.
The event also featured a silent auction, prizes for the top three decorated tables, a contest to name the new gift shop at the center and raffles. The Heart in Hand Quilt Guild raffled off its one of kind, handmade quilt. The guild only makes one quilt per year and all the proceeds from this year’s quilt went directly to the Bowen Center for the Arts. Susie Brogdon, an attendant from Marble Hill, won the quilt.
Various groups decorated the tables at the event and 120 ladies attended the event.
The Ladies of Gold Creek took home first place for their table, which was entitled
“The Black Hat Society.” They won a free table for next year’s event.
Judy Baer won second place for her table, “Art Babes at the Beach.” The table was sponsored by the Dawson County Arts Council.
Third place went to White Interiors, a local design company, for its table, “Rustic Elegance.”
“Something this big and fun cannot be done without the support of volunteers, I must thank the ladies and gentlemen who helped make this a success,” said Chelf.
Sponsors included Gold Creek, Chocolate Moose, Dawson County Arts Council,
Dawson County Humane Society, Dawson County Woman’s Club, Fireside Café, Friends of Dawson County Arts Council, Fuller & Associates and State Farm Insurance.
