Catherine Mickle celebrated her 96th birthday Jan. 19, 2009.

After living most of her life in Atlanta, Mickle moved to Dawsonville in 1999 and is currently the oldest member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

She volunteered with RIC Rack, a local thrift store, until she was 92-years-old.

According to Mickle, she had to quit driving at that time, because of her eye sight.

Mickle currently lives with her great-neice, Edwina McMahan and nephew-in-law, “Mr. Bob” McMahan.

Her great-nephew Milton Bruce and his wife, Mary, also live in Dawsonville.
