The Place of Forsyth to hold virtual magic and comedy show to benefit new Dawson location
The Place of Forsyth 02-24-21

The Place of Forsyth County and local company Snap Tech IT will host a virtual magic and comedy show on March 24, to benefit The Place and its new Dawsonville location.

According to a release by The Place, the virtual event will be “A night of comedy, magic and madness” and will feature Denny Corby, a magician, comedian and performer who has been featured on networks like NBC and The CW. This event will be sponsored by Snap Fish IT, and all proceeds will go to benefit The Place and its mission.

“The pandemic has certainly pushed the limits on what The Place is able to do, and we want to ensure that they have the resources to continue to serve our county’s most vulnerable population,” Shawn Brown, President at Snap Tech IT, said in the release. “This upcoming event is a simple way that we can give back to The Place and encourage our neighbors to do the same.”

This event will be the first virtual show that The Place has ever participated in, the release said, and it will be the first official fundraiser for the group since The Place announced its merger with RIC-Rack.

“Dawsonville has been on our hearts for a long time,” Joni Smith, President and CEO of The Place of Forsyth said in the release. “Thanks to the merger with RIC-Rack, we are now able to expand on the services we provide for Dawson County residents. This fundraiser will help us do just that.”

The virtual event will be held on March 24 at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event are $35 per household and can be purchased at
