Here’s the Dawson County churches holding Vacation Bible School in 2021

With school officially out and summer vacation kicking into full swing, local churches are preparing to start up annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) programs to keep children in the community busy and entertained during the break. 

Here’s a list of Dawson County churches holding VBS and day camp programs in June and July. 

First Baptist Church — 900 Ga. Highway 9 N, Dawsonville

First Baptist Church Dawsonville will hold its VBS, “Submerged”, from June 6 through June 10.

VBS registration and kick-off will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 6 at the Veteran’s Memorial Park pool, 186 Recreation Road. Dinner will be provided and parents will be required to stay with their children during the kick-off party. 

First Baptist Church’s VBS will then be each evening from Monday, June 7 through Thursday, June 10. Dinner will begin at 5 p.m., and VBS sessions will be from 6 to 8:45 p.m. The program is open to potty-trained children from 3 years old through sixth grade. Registrations are encouraged.

Liberty Baptist Church — 280 Liberty Church Road, Dawsonville

Liberty Baptist Church will hold its VBS, “Big Fish Bay”, from June 6 through June 11. The VBS will be from 6:15 to 8:45 p.m. each night, and will be open to all age groups, from babies to adults.

Harmony Baptist Church — 1575 Harmony Church Road, Dawsonville

Harmony Baptist Church will hold its VBS from June 14 through June 18. VBS will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., with dinner at 5:30 and VBS events beginning at 6 p.m. This program will include Bible stories, crafts, games, puppets, skits and prizes. All ages are welcome.

War Hill Christian Academy — 8847 Ga. Highway 53, Dawsonville

War Hill Christian Academy will hold a day camp from June 24 through July 30. The camp will be open to children from preschool through elementary school, and will cost $75 per student. Children can sign up for one week or every week, and the camp will include adventures, games, activities and field trips.

Local Church — 31 Successful Way, Dawsonville

Local Church Dawson will host two camps: both a preschooler day camp and “Elementary Summer Camp Freestyle” from July 19 through July 23. 

Registration for preschoolers is $75, and preschoolers will attend camp from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Preschool camp will include large group worship and teaching, crafts and activities. Elementary camp is $170, and elementary school campers will attend the program from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Set Free Dawsonville — 2441 Dawson Forest Road, Dawsonville

Set Free Dawsonville will hold its VBS, “The Greatest Show”, from July 19 through July 23. The VBS will be from 6 to 9 p.m. each night, and classes will include children aged 4 through 12. The program will end on Friday, July 23 with “Carnival Family Night”, which will offer fun for all ages.
