From now through the end of February, local financial advisor Alex Williams with Modern Woodmen of America is partnering with Appalachian Armory to sell tickets for her annual 31-day gun raffle and fundraiser to benefit the Dawson County Fire Department.
The gun raffle allows community members a chance to enter into a drawing to win one of 31 guns while also supporting the men and women in the Dawson County Fire Department.
According to information provided by Williams, tickets are on sale from Jan. 16 through Feb. 28 and cost $40 each. Out of the tickets sold, a winning ticket will be pulled each day from March 1 through 31 for a chance to win one of 31 guns from local gun store Appalachian Armory.
Tickets purchased before Feb. 1 will qualify for the “early bird” drawings, or two big prizes that will be awarded on March 1 and 31.
Once a ticket is drawn to win a gun, it will not be put back into the drawing for more chances to win. If an individual purchases more than one ticket and wins a gun, the additional tickets will remain in the drawing for a chance to win another gun.
Those wanting to enter the raffle must be 18 years or older to purchase a ticket, and no tickets will be given to anyone prior to payment.
Beginning on March 1, winners will be posted on Facebook daily at facebook.com/AlexandriaWilliamsMWA, and each winner will receive a phone call notifying them that they have won.
Winners must appear in person with their ID at Appalachian Armory to receive their prizes. If a winner doesn’t want the gun they won, they may make another selection of equal value or receive a gift card for the cost of the firearm.
Those interested in entering the contest can purchase a ticket from Alex Williams, a Dawson County firefighter or Appalachian Armory. For more information, call Williams at 404-372-0980.
