Leaders of Habitat for Humanity North-Central Georgia named Steve Napier, an experienced nonprofit leader, as executive director, effective immediately. Napier joins HHNCG from Action Ministries of Georgia where he was vice president of finance and administration.
“Steve’s nonprofit, finance and administration background is a wonderful match for our mission,” said Michael Krauter, chair of the Habitat for Humanity – North Central Georgia board of directors. “As a former Habitat volunteer, he is familiar with all aspects of a build, which makes him ideally suited to tell the HHNCG story and build new relationships with the business community, partners and volunteers.”
Napier, who received his bachelor’s degree from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, earned a master’s degree in divinity and religious studies from Emory University in Atlanta. He is an ordained minister in The United Methodist Church.
“Habitat for Humanity – North Central Georgia has an impressive legacy of constructing over 300 new homes for low-income families,” said Napier. “I am looking forward to helping people learn more about all that Habitat has to offer, including programs that provide home repairs to non-Habitat seniors and veterans and build tomorrow’s leaders through our student engagement program.”
Founded in 1994, Habitat for Humanity – North Central Georgia, which serves Cherokee, Dawson, Forsyth and North Fulton counties, enables individuals to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. At HHNCG, Napier directs and oversees administration, corporate relations, development, staffing and volunteer programs.
HHNCG offers new home construction and rehab programs focus on helping families become first-time home buyer, a Home Repair Program serving the needs of current non-Habitat seniors, veterans, and disabled homeowners, corporate team building activities and student engagement programs involving high school students from local area high schools.
