Hall-Dawson Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) has announced that Chris Hollifield has been elected as the organization’s new board chair.
Hollifield has been a Hall-Dawson CASA board member for 13 years and is excited for his new role, according to a press release by CASA.
“The reason I serve CASA and have been involved for so many years now is the impact that CASA makes in a child’s life,” Hollifield said in the release. “We tell their story when no one will listen. In their world we are the adult in their corner who will speak up for their best interest. My wife and I once had this opportunity to foster two boys for a short time and I saw first-hand what some children have to go though and the difference a CASA can make.”
According to the release, Hollifield is a managing partner at Rushton and Company, where he oversees audits and assurance. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and he and his wife Melissa have two daughters, Sarah and Grace.
Other newly elected Hall-Dawson CASA board members include Debbie Holcombe, administrator of First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville, and Cindy Campbell, CPA and firm administrator at Rushton and Company.
According to the release, both are joining the organization as part of their desire to help children in the community who are in need.
