On Monday Nov. 21, the Rotary Club of Dawson County will host its annual free community drive through Thanksgiving dinner.

The drive through dinner will take place at the Dawson County Senior Center, located at 201 Recreation Road, and will run from 5 to 7 p.m.

During the event, members of the community will drive their cars past the center to receive a free Thanksgiving meal from Rotary volunteers. For the safety of both citizens and volunteers, all attendees will be asked to remain in their vehicles.

The Rotary Club of Dawson County took over the annual Thanksgiving meal event in 2017. Last year they gave away 600 meals at the event, and they are hoping to match that total again this year, according to representatives of the club.

This year’s dinner will be sponsored by Ruby’s Recipes, Amicalola EMC, United Community Bank, Associated Credit Union, Publix, Chicken Salad Chick, Ingles, Food Lion and Walmart.
