On the morning of Saturday Dec. 4, dozens of local families flocked to Rock Creek Park in Dawson County to participate in the 2021 Breakfast With Santa event hosted by Dawson County Parks and Rec. 

The event ran from 8 to 11 a.m. and consisted of free activities for children, photos with Santa, breakfast and local vendors. 

Children stood with their families in line to meet Santa, smiling as each of their turns came to join him on his wooden bench for a photo. They circulated the room to participate in fun activities, sponsored by local groups and businesses, including ornament making, cookie decorating and making their own “reindeer food”. Parents had the opportunity to shop for Christmas gifts and other items being sold by several local vendors set up on site. 

All proceeds from the event benefited local nonprofit K.A.R.E. for Kids.
