On the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 31, hundreds of costume-clad families flocked to Rock Creek Park in Dawson County to participate in the county’s annual community Trunk or Treat event.
The event, which ran from 4 to 6 p.m. on Halloween, featured dozens of decorated cars or booths from community members as well as local organizations such as the Dawson County Fire Department, Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, Dawson County Rotary Club and Dawson County Humane Society. Each booth and car handed out candy or other treats to the children who approached it.
In addition to trunk or treating, the event included ice cream and other frozen treats for sale courtesy of local ice cream truck Best Ice Cream on Wheels, hayrides courtesy of Harmony Baptist Church, bounce houses, games and food.
