Five places for kids to see Santa in North Georgia this year

It's that time of year again. Santa and his helpers are out in the community meeting children and families, preparing for the big night. 

Things might work a little bit differently this year due to COVID-19, but there are still lots of great opportunities for kids to see Santa in the north Georgia area. 

Here are five upcoming events where your kids can meet Santa. 


Dawsonville Gun and Pawn

Dawsonville Gun and Pawn will be hosting a free photos with Santa event on Dec. 12. 

When: Saturday, Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

North Georgia Premium Outlets 

The North Georgia Premium Outlets will be hosting a socially distanced photos with Santa during the month of December. Guests are asked to make photo reservations beforehand, and Santa and his helpers will be wearing masks during the whole experience. 

When: Nov. 27 through Dec. 24

Christmas in Cumming

Santa will be at the Cumming Arts and Crafts Show on the weekend of Dec. 11 and 12. Admission to the craft show is $1, and visits with Santa are free. 

When: Friday, Dec. 12 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 13 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Margaritaville at Lanier Islands

Santa will be available for photos at Margaritaville at Lanier Islands. Children will not be allowed to sit on Santa’s lap, but will be allowed to sit on a chair next to Santa. Masks will not be required at the resort. 

When: All month of Dec. during store hours 

Where: Near the entrance of Margaritaville’s Lakeside Lights Spectacular, 7650 Lanier Islands Parkway, Buford

Dahlonega’s Old Fashioned Christmas 

Dahlonega will be hosting photos with Santa as part of the town’s Old Fashioned Christmas festivities. While children won’t be allowed to sit on Santa’s lap, they will instead be able to pose for a picture in his sleigh with him beside it. 

When: Dec. 5, 13 and 19 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Dec. 12 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
