DCN to host virtual Q&A on SPLOST VII next week

DCN Virtual SPLOST VII Event

Officials from Dawson County and the city of Dawsonville will answer crucial questions about the upcoming $60 million, 6-year Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST VII), as a virtual event hosted by the Dawson County News next week. 

Join us at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, for an information session on how SPLOST works and what projects will be funded by SPLOST VII, followed by a Q&A session with Dawson County residents.  

Proposed projects included in SPLOST VII include the construction of a new emergency operations 911 center, a new emergency communications system, public safety vehicles and equipment, park improvements and construction of a new public health building. 

Early voting for the SPLOST VII special election has already started and will last until Friday, March 12. Election day for SPLOST VII has been set for March 16.
