UPDATE: Due to weather, the event has been postponed from Friday, Dec. 10 to Friday, Dec. 17.
On Friday Dec. 17, Dawson County Parks and Rec will host a drive-in “Movies in the Park” event at Rock Creek Park Sports Complex, playing the holiday classic “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.
Parking for the event will start at 4:45 and end at 5:20 p.m., and the movie will being at dusk, around 5:40 p.m. Parking is first-come, first-served, and larger vehicles will be asked to park in the back and to the sides of the lot. An FM transmitter and speakers will be on site.
Admission to the event is free, and there will be no concessions provided so attendees are encouraged to bring their own food, snacks and drinks. Alcohol and glass bottles are prohibited.
“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is based on the Dr. Suess classic book by the same name. The 2000 film stars Jim Carrey and follows the adventure of The Grinch as he learns the real meaning behind the Christmas season.
