Carolyn Dooley, of Dawsonville, announces the engagement of her daughter, Laura Paige, to James Robert Carr.

Paige is the daughter of the late Jeff Dooley.

James is the son of Susan and Jeff Buffington and Jim and Lisa Carr of Dawsonville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Edmond Wallace and the late Daisy Wallace of Dawsonville, and the late C. J. (Red) and Marie Dooley of Cumming.

She graduated from North Forsyth High School and the University of North Georgia with a degree in exercise science.

She is currently employed by the Forsyth County Board of Education.

The future groom is the grandson of Jim Shockley of Danville, Ind. and the late Carlene Shockley of Danville, and the late Robert and Shirley Carr of Westville, Ind.

He graduated from Dawson County High School and is currently employed with Five Star Architectural, LLC.

A June 2017 wedding is planned.
