This week, the Bowen Center for the Arts in Dawson County officially kicked off its “Festival of Trees”, displaying trees decorated by local groups and individuals and allowing art center visitors to vote on their favorite.
According to a press release by the Bowen, all of the trees in the exhibit have been donated by the community, and several of the trees are up for sale or auction. The groups or individuals who have sponsored trees for the exhibit include the following:
The Dawson County Woman’s Club is selling their 9 foot decorated tree with vintage and new ornaments provided by the club’s members and coordinated by Ann Bosworth.
The North Georgia Conservation Coalition has a live arborvitae, which was donated by Fairways Nursery of Cumming and will be sold to the highest bidder.
Allie Dean donated one of her favorite tabletop trees to be sold to the highest bidder.
Spruill Art Center Glass Department is selling their handmade glass ornaments off of their decorated tree.
Blooming Idiots Garden Club has provided a beautiful tree for gardeners of all ages.
The Rotary Club of Dawson County has entered a tree decorated in blue and silver.
Heart in Hand Quilt Guild decorated four small trees “full of quilted wonder”.
Gold Creek Book Club decorated a tree full of cardinals.

According to the Bowen’s website, the display will be up through Dec. 15, and visitors are invited to come and vote on their favorite tree. To vote on your favorite, go to the Bowen to view the trees and cast a ballot in person or view photos of each entry on the Bowen’s website and vote via email.
“The spirited display will be at the Bowen for visitors to come and enjoy exquisitely decorated and artistic trees sponsored by wonderful community support groups until Dec. 15,” the release said. “Join us and waltz through the beauty and splendor of the Holiday spirit.”
