This September, the Bowen Center for the Arts will hold a wine tasting fundraiser at Cold Creek Farm and a fall concert performed by the Dawson Chorale.

The concert, performed by the Dawson Chorale under the direction of Kathy Pate, will take place  on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 3 p.m. in the Dawson County Junior High School auditorium. The Dawson Chorale is a large part of the Dawson County Arts Council, which does business as the Bowen Center for the Arts, and consists of talented singers and their accompanying band members.

This fall’s concert is entitled “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and will feature music by Elton, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and more. The Chorale will perform arrangements of songs like “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”, “Don’t Go Breaking my Heart”, “Pinball Wizard”, “Teach Your Children”, “Our House” and many more.

Concert tickets are $10 and can be purchased online, at the door or at the Bowen Center for the Arts. To read more about the concert or to purchase tickets online, go to https://www.bowenarts.org/events/concert/

Also coming up, the Bowen will hold “The Artful Cork wine tasting and dinner” on Sept. 15 at Cold Creek Farm in Dawson County. The event will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and include wine, dinner and a silent auction.

The dinner will be served by A Perfect Gathering and will feature a beef carving station, chicken, potatoes, salad, vegetables, rolls and dessert.

The auction will include gifts donated by businesses, clubs, artists, board members and Bowen members, and all auction items will be available for pre-bidding at the Bowen starting on Aug. 27.

Tickets for the event are $70 per person and include dinner and drinks. Tickets can be reserved online by going to https://www.bowenarts.org/events/the-artful-cork-wine-dinner/. The event is a fundraiser, so the center is encouraging the community to come out, enjoy an evening and help to support the Bowen and its mission in the community.
