Georgia House District 9 Representative Republican nominee With 100% of precincts reporting

Will Wade (Rep.): 66.73% (4,959)

Steve Leibel (Rep.): 33.27% (2,472)

Former Dawson County Board of Education Member Will Wade beat out challenger Steve Leibel on Tuesday night, winning the Republican nomination for Georgia’s District 9 State House of Representatives race. 

Who is Wade: Wade is a former Dawson County Board of Education member and community banker.  

How he reacted: Thanking his family, team and the people of District 9 for their support over the last six months, Wade said that he is honored at the trust voters had placed in him with their votes. 

“I look forward to earning your support again in the General Election on Nov. 3 and cant wait to get to work fighting for North Georgia under the Gold Dome,” Wade said in a message to supporters after the race. 

On the issues: A top priority for Wade is to improve the economy of Georgia and District 9 by expanding opportunities for businesses in rural areas like Dawson County. 

“My first priority is to do a lot of listening,” Wade said. 

What’s next: He faces Democrat Sharon Ravert in the Nov. 3 general election.
