Doris Maffucci

Doris Maffucci, 69, of Dawsonville, died July 23, 2014.

She was born June 26, 1945, in Cumberland, Md.

Her father, Nuner Oster, preceded her in death.

Doris was a 1963 graduate of Bedford High School and recently attended her 50th high school reunion.

She enjoyed playing bridge, planning and cooking gourmet meals for friends and family, volunteering, traveling, hiking, kayaking and playing golf.

Doris was also captain of an Atlanta city champion ALTA tennis team in her younger years.

She was compassionate and loving and enriched the lives of everyone she shared her life with. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

A service was held at 2 p.m. July 28 at the First Christian Church, 57 Providence St., Everett, Pa. Interment followed in Bedford County Memorial Park.

A memorial service is planned at a later date in Dawsonville and will be announced when plans are finalized. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were requested made to the American Cancer Society at

Georgia Cremation Centers of Acworth was in charge of the arrangements.
