She was born in Atlanta and had been a resident of Lumpkin County for the past two years, after moving here from Dawsonville. She worked as a caretaker for Bright Star Home Health.

She was a beautiful and loving wife and mother that will be missed very much.

Her father, Joseph Steve Ward, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Lee Atwell; mother, Delores Marlene Ward of Maysville; son, Christopher Buice of Dahlonega; daughter, Sara Pistol Buice of Dahlonega; sister and brother-in-law, Deanne and Tommy Hitchcock of Dawsonville; sister, Amanda Ward of Canton; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. June 1 at the Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega with the Pastor Steve Landers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested that contributions be made to Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega to help with funeral expenses.

Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega was in charge of the arrangements.
