The Dawson County High School Lady Tigers basketball program just wrapped up a three-day team camp at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega last week.

Head Coach Steve Sweat's Lady Tigers played many larger schools during the camp, such as North Forsyth, Grayson and South Forsyth.

"We like going to North Georgia because we get to play teams that we do not play in regular season and they are bigger and better," Sweat said. "Overall, I thought we played pretty good. We were able to get in some valuable court time with many of our players because we did not have our whole team for any of the games. I believe this really helped some of our players to see what they can do and feel good about doing it."

Missing at various times during the camp were: Ashley Parker, Sheyenne Seabolt and Karlie Bearden.

"Sheyenne Seabolt is one of our returning post players and she does a great job of going inside and outside for us. Peytan Porter did a good job on defense. Haley Burgess and Erin Chatham shot well from the three point range," Sweat said.

Areas Sweat believes his team needs to improve on include passing to the post and creating shots.

"We have got to turn up our defensive pressure on our different pressure defenses. We also need to get the ball where it needs to be on offense for the best shot," Sweat said.

The Lady Tigers will get in three days of practice this week before traveling to Jefferson High School for a three day camp June 17 and 18.
