Coach Thad Burgess' varsity boys basketball team notched its first Region 8A-AA win of the season Friday against Fannin County. The Tigers outscored the visiting Rebels 55-17 in front of a huge crowd in Dawsonville.
The Tigers placed three players in double figures, led by Jackson Putnam with a game-high 11 points. Jonathan Sanderson and Tyler Dominy scored 10 points apiece in the 38-point win. Read More

The Dawson County wrestling team captured first place at the Amicalola Classic tournament held at Dawson County High School last week.
The Dec. 29-30 event was split into two parts. On Thursday teams were placed into two pools and wrestled each other. The winner of the two pools met in the championship match later that night. Read More

The week did not get off to a great start for the Dawson County Tigers varsity basketball team. Playing without head coach Thad Burgess, due to an ejection, the Tigers lost a close contest to Fellowship Christian, 44-41, on Tuesday. It was the Tigers first loss of the season.
