Northeastern Judicial Circuit District Attorney Lee Darragh announced Monday that longtime prosecutor Conley Greer has been assigned as the new supervising assistant district attorney for the Dawson County office.
"The citizens of Dawson County will be well served with Mr. Greer in his capacity as Supervising ADA," Darragh said Monday afternoon in a release.
Dawson County Sheriff Billy Carlisle recently promoted three officers to new leadership positions in the agency's uniform patrol and criminal investigation divisions.
The promotions of Maj. Tony Wooten, Capt. Ray Goodie and Lt. Dan Ramsey took effect last month. They are an extension of Carlisle's two-year plan to streamline departmental operations and better provide top-notch police services to the community.
Local advocate Katie Strayhorn was recently re-elected to serve as chair of the state's Sex Offender Review Board for the second year.
In her first year chairing the panel, Strayhorn focused on several initiatives. She also worked closely with newly-elected state Rep. Kevin Tanner to propose legislation that would allow the board to review parole notes in assessing sex offenders.
A 22-year-old Dawsonville man has been indicted on several charges after he reportedly disrupted traffic last summer on Ga. 400.
Luke Evans will face two counts of reckless conduct and one count each of first-degree burglary and criminal trespass, according to an indictment handed down last week by the Forsyth County Grand Jury.
