A crime series on the cable channel Investigation Discovery will profile serial killer Gary Michael Hilton, the drifter who admitted to killing a young Buford woman in the Dawson Forest Wildlife Management Area in January 2008.
Northeastern Judicial Circuit District Attorney Lee Darragh announced Monday that longtime prosecutor Conley Greer has been assigned as the new supervising assistant district attorney for the Dawson County office.
"The citizens of Dawson County will be well served with Mr. Greer in his capacity as Supervising ADA," Darragh said Monday afternoon in a release.
Dawson County Sheriff Billy Carlisle recently promoted three officers to new leadership positions in the agency's uniform patrol and criminal investigation divisions.
The promotions of Maj. Tony Wooten, Capt. Ray Goodie and Lt. Dan Ramsey took effect last month. They are an extension of Carlisle's two-year plan to streamline departmental operations and better provide top-notch police services to the community.
