Tax assessments in mail this week

Dawson County property owners should expect to find their tax assessment notices in the mailbox this week.

Chief tax appraiser Michael Roberts said the notices were delayed about a week due to the state's new assessment program.

Revision to proposed sign ordinance online

The public has two more weeks to review proposed changes to the county's sign ordinance.

The Dawson County Board of Commissioners plans to wait until June 2 to vote on the proposed changes in order to give the public time to review the document, which is available online at dawsoncounty.org.

Sunday sales a possibility

It appears Dawsonville residents will get to decide in November whether to allow package sales of alcohol at stores in the city on Sundays.
