Louis Clayton Clark Jr., 84, of Dawsonville (formerly of East Atlanta and East Point), died Nov. 15, 2012. Born in Atlanta, on Aug. 7, 1928, he was the son of the late Louis Clayton Clark Sr. and Odessa Clark.
Wallace L. Crowder
Wallace L. Crowder, 74, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 14, 2012. Born May 9, 1938, in Marietta, Ga., to the late James "Jim" and Elsie Crowder, he had lived in Dawson County since 1974.
Virg L. “Puncho” Helton
Virg L. "Puncho" Helton, 79, of Gainesville, died Nov. 13, 2012. Born May 12, 1933, in Harlan County, Kentucky, to the late Glen and Lela Helton, he moved to Dawson County in 1980 and then to Gainesville three years ago.
Myrtle Elizabeth Martin
Myrtle Elizabeth Martin, 93, of Cumming, died Nov. 15, 2012. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Gainesville.
Mary Julia Orr
Mary Julia Orr, 74, of Ellijay, died Nov. 13, 2012. Her husband, Edgar Orr; son, William F. Thornton; parents, Julian and Ima Creech; and brother, Billy G. Creech, preceded her in death.
Rev. Glen Phillips
Rev. Glen Phillips, 76, of Cumming, died Nov. 15, 2012. Glen was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

William A. Porter, 89, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 18, 2012. Born Jan. 23, 1923, in Buford to the late Herbert and Lena Porter, he had lived in Dawson County since 1993.

Leonard Dennis Rainey, 62, of Dawsonville, formerly of Atlanta, died Nov. 13, 2012. Leonard was an avid bowler.
Evelyn Thompson Sheffield
Evelyn Thompson Sheffield, 79, of Cumming, died Nov. 12, 2012. Born March 23, 1933, in Cherokee County, to the late Millard and Mattie Thompson, she had lived in Cumming since 1997, having moved from Gainesville.
Lisa Michelle Shirley
Lisa Michelle Shirley, 25, of Cumming, died Nov. 17, 2012. She was a beloved, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many.

Frank E. Slaton, 78, of Flowery Branch, died Nov. 14, 2012. Born July 20, 1934, in Dawson County, to the late Thomas and Mertie Slaton, he had lived in Flowery Branch since 1995, having moved from Forsyth County.

Janeen Kay Stanley, 60, of Eufaula, Ala., died Nov. 17, 2012. Born Feb. 12, 1952 in Harriman, Tenn., Mrs. Stanley was the daughter of the late Daniel Raymond and Ina Louise Fritz Pichon Jr.

Dolores J. "Dory" Veith, 75, of Cumming, died Nov. 16, 2012. Survivors include her husband, Herman Veith of Cumming; children, Robert Rolle of Dawsonville, Renee Yoos, Ronald Rolle, both of Suwanee, Reno Rolle, Rodney Rolle both of Ojai, Calif.; stepchildren, Alan Veith of Orlando, Fla., June Windmuller of Richmond, Va., Robert Veith of Mt. Laurel, N.J., Lynne Palermo of Rochester, N.Y., Lori Weatherwalks of Chesterfield, N.J.; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; various other relatives also survive. ...

Stephen Brent Waters, 33, of Dahlonega, died April 9, 2013. Born Oct. 25, 1979, Mr. Waters was a native of Dawson County and had lived in Lumpkin County for the past year.
