John "J.P." Hammond, 21, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 6, 2012. Born May 15, 1991, in Hendersonville, Tenn., Mr. Hammond was a 2009 graduate of Excellence Academy.
Carolyn Irene Higgins, 75, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 6, 2012. Born Feb. 14, 1937, to the late Dave and Eliza Kimbral, she lived most of her life in Dawson County.
Velvie C. Kirby, 79, of Cumming, died Dec. 4, 2012. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.
Della Groves Nuzum, 80, of Lawrenceville, died Dec. 7, 2012. Born Jan. 21, 1932, in Richwood, W. Va., to the late Rev. S.G. and Reba Groves, she lived most of her adult life in Akron, Ohio.
Mary Patten, 80, of Cumming, died Dec. 9, 2012. Mary loved gardening and cooking and was well known for her delicious tea cakes.
Carey Edmund Schreiman died Dec. 7, 2012. Carey was the owner and founder of Coal Mountain Woodworking Company, having operated in Cumming since 1979.
Delbert H. Tow, 67, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 4, 2012. Born March 21, 1945, in Lumpkin County to the late Oscar and Nellie Tow, he had been a resident of Dawsonville most of his life.
Sandra Cain, 65, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 28, 2012. Born June 23, 1947, Mrs. Cain had been a resident of Dawsonville her entire life.
Paul J. Brauer, 73, of Sugar Hill, died Nov. 27, 2012. Born Dec. 27, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Mildred Brauer, he had lived in Gwinnett County since 1991, having moved from Indianapolis, Ind. While in Indianapolis, Mr. Brauer was manager of Kelly Springfield, after which he owned Paul's Tire and Auto. Raymond Stephen Carver, 83, of Cumming, died Dec. 1, 2012. A native of Atlanta, Mr. Carver was a Korean War veteran of the United States Marine Corps and retired after 40 years as an engineer with AT&T.
Alex Owen Pagel, 21, of Gainesville, died Nov. 22, 2012. Born in Jacksonville, Fla., he was the son of Janice Pagel of Gainesville and Mark and Cinde Pagel of Cumming.
Judy Rosalee "Rosie" Weaver, 57, of Tucker, formerly of Dawsonville, died Nov. 21, 2012. Miss Weaver was born March 23, 1955, in Gilmer County. She was the daughter of the late Edd and Roma Wright Weaver.

Harold D. "Danny" Perkins, 65, of Dawsonville, died April 15, 2013. Born Oct. 17, 1947, in Kennesaw to the late Raymond and Dora Berma Perkins, he lived most of his life in Dawson County.
Charles E. Vincent, 83, of Norcross, died April 13, 2013. Born March 11, 1930, in Pilot Oak, Ky., to the late Bruce and Pernie Vincent, he moved to Clarkston, Ga., in 1967 and to Norcross in 1988.
Stephen Brent Waters, 33, of Dahlonega, died April 9, 2013. Born Oct. 25, 1979, Mr. Waters was a native of Dawson County and had lived in Lumpkin County for the past year.
