Sgt. 1st Class Mike Withers, U.S. Army retired, 54, of Dawsonville, died March 7, 2013. Born Sept. 4, 1958, in Monticello, Ariz., Mr. Withers had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 13 years.
Lannie D. Vickers
Lannie D. Vickers, 60, of Winder, died March 8, 2013. Born Dec. 7, 1952, in Atlanta, to the late Roy and Wilma Sheriff Vickers, he lived most of his life in Gwinnett County before moving to Winder six years ago.
Kenneth Webster ‘Kenny’ Stewart III
Kenneth Webster "Kenny" Stewart III, 12, of Dawsonville, died March 11, 2013. Born Dec. 7, 2000, Kenny was a native of Forsyth County, but had lived in Dawson County since 2008.
Mary Frances Rainwater
Mary Frances Rainwater, 83, of Dawsonville, died March 9, 2013. Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Moore, Belita Piper, Barbara Whetstone; sons, Bruce Rainwater, Gary Rainwater, Tony Rainwater; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Moulder; various other relatives also survive.
Sandy Bascome Ford
Sandy Bascome Ford, 57, of Dawsonville, died March 9, 2013. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who loved to hunt and be outdoors.
Alesia ‘Lisa’ Blanton
Alesia "Lisa" Blanton, 52, of Dawsonville, died March 6, 2013. Born Nov. 20, 1960, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. A homemaker at her death, Lisa was formerly employed at the Dawsonville Pool Room.
Lesia Elaine Bennett
Lesia Elaine Bennett, 43, of Cumming, died March 7, 2013. Lesia was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County and was employed by the Forsyth County School System and worked at Kelly Mill Elementary School.
Pauline “Polly” Harris Arrington
Pauline "Polly" Harris Arrington, 92, of Forsyth County, died March 2, 2013. She was born March 30, 1920.
Yvonne C. Melancon
Yvonne C. Melancon, 84, of Dawsonville, died March 2, 2013. Born Oct. 16, 1928, in New Orleans, La., to the late Joseph Robert and Marietta Lawton, she had lived in Dawson County for the past 20 years.
Eunice M. Bailey
Eunice M. Bailey, 88, of Cumming, died Feb. 19, 2013. She was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church.
Annie Lou Bragg
Annie Lou Bragg, 74, of Cumming, died Feb. 20, 2013. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Terry Hamby; companion, William Strayhorn Sr.; various other relatives also survive. Funeral services were held at noon Feb. 22 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jerry McCormick, Toby Hamby, Darryl Strayhorn and Garry English officiating. Vera Carter, 87, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 18, 2013. Mrs. Carter was born April 13, 1925, to the late H. Percy and Nellie Cox.

Dorothy Louise Evers Maze, 86, of Brookville, Ohio, died Jan. 12, 2013. She was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Providence, R.I., she also lived a number of years in Dawson County.

Valerie Jean Martin, 29, of Forsyth County, died March 12, 2013. Valerie loved her family and friends intensely.
Lillie Jean Cagle
Lillie Jean Cagle, 88, of Cumming, died March 16, 2013. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist church and part of the ladies Sunday school class.
Michele Keller Chesnut
Michele Keller Chesnut of Cumming died March 15, 2013. Michele graduated from Grissom High School in Huntsville, Ala., and obtained her pharmacy degree from Auburn University in 1982.

Shane Michael Thurmond, 42, of Dawsonville, died March 12, 2013. Born Feb. 3, 1971, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.
Margie Weaver
Margie Weaver, 74, of Dawsonville, died March 18, 2013. Born July 31, 1938, in Pickens County, she lived in Dawson County for the past 55 years.
