Jerry Ray Davis, 58, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 3, 2013. Born June 8, 1954, in Memphis, Tenn. to the late Howard and Virginia Davis, Mr. Davis was a driver for Celadon Trucking Services.

Barida Hurst, 79, of Cumming, died Feb. 8, 2013. Survivors include her husband, Ed Hurst of Cumming; daughter, Wanoga Hammond of Forsyth County; sisters, Edna Stanley of Dahlonega, Dorothy Gist of Jasper; grandchildren, Amanda Bobo, Rhonda Hall, both of Dahlonega, Lahoma Meeks of Jasper, Mark, Dustin and Autumn Hammond; various other relatives also survive.
Margie Barnett Tate
Margie Barnett Tate, 74, of Cumming, died Feb. 9, 2013. Her husband of 46 years, Miles Everett Tate, preceded her in death.
Frances Louise Moore Simpson
Frances Louise Moore Simpson, 86, died Feb. 7, 2013. Born Oct. 9, 1926, in Bethlehem, she was a native of Barrow County, but had lived in Oklahoma since 1981, specifically Tuttle, Okla., for a majority of that time.

Kelly Gwen Turner, 46, of Ball Ground, died Jan. 29, 2013. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.
Emma Smith
Emma Smith, 79, of Suwanee, died Jan. 30, 2013. Born on July 4, 1933 in Duncan, S.C., she was the daughter of the late William Monroe Bolding and Nellie Florence Farmer Bolding.

Bente Rigmor Anderson Newirth, 76, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 1, 2013. A graveside funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Feb. 8 at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain.

Leon Jackson Johnson, 77, of Cumming, died Feb. 3, 2013. Leon loved God, family, friends and the great outdoors.
Patricia Louise Caldwell
Patricia Louise Caldwell, 66, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 27, 2013. The family will hold a private ceremony at a later date.

Philip Lanier Branson III, 59, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 2, 2013. Born Nov. 19, 1953 in Atlanta, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 15 years.

Lanier Pruitt, 58, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 21, 2013. Born in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Talmadge and Addie Lee Pruitt.

W. Frank Morgan Sr., 90, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 26, 2013. Born April 23, 1922, in Dahlonega to the late Jefferson and Carrie Morgan, he had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 30 years having moved from Atlanta.

Oliver Lee Kelley, 74, of Cumming, died Jan. 25, 2013. He was born May 23, 1938, in Cumming to Arthur Colquit Sr. and Kate Kelley.
Robert J. “Bob” Galasso
Robert J. "Bob" Galasso, 77, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 26, 2013. Born March 16, 1935, in Oyster Bay, N.Y., to the late Louis and Mildred Galasso, he had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 19 years.
Justin Disharoon
Justin Disharoon, 25, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 26, 2013. Mr. Disharoon was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. He attended Dawson County High School and was assistant manager at Cactus Carwash.

Valerie Jean Martin
Valerie Jean Martin, 29, of Forsyth County, died March 12, 2013. Valerie loved her family and friends intensely.
Lillie Jean Cagle
Lillie Jean Cagle, 88, of Cumming, died March 16, 2013. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist church and part of the ladies Sunday school class.
Michele Keller Chesnut
Michele Keller Chesnut of Cumming died March 15, 2013. Michele graduated from Grissom High School in Huntsville, Ala., and obtained her pharmacy degree from Auburn University in 1982.
Shane Michael Thurmond
Shane Michael Thurmond, 42, of Dawsonville, died March 12, 2013. Born Feb. 3, 1971, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.
Margie Weaver
Margie Weaver, 74, of Dawsonville, died March 18, 2013. Born July 31, 1938, in Pickens County, she lived in Dawson County for the past 55 years.
