The Riverview Middle School seventh grade girls basketball team dropped two games last week to Jasper Middle, 24-10, on Nov. 21, and Clear Creek, 32-18, on Nov. 22.
Held in check for much of the ballgame, Cullen Reed hit the biggest shot of his career. The Riverview eighth-grader grabbed a rebound off of a missed free throw, took two dribbles and launched a shot from beyond half court. The shot touched nothing but net as Coach Mark Thomason's team stormed the floor as the Eagles took a 33-32 win over Lumpkin County Middle School on Saturday afternoon.
It was a tough week for the Riverview Middle School seventh grade boys basketball team. The Eagles dropped a 45-24 loss to Pickens Middle on Nov. 14 and lost 38-25 at Lumpkin on Nov. 16.
